Happy Birthday Rocky!

Yesterday Rocky was 2 years old! We celebrated with a Frosty Paw and a new toy. Happy Birthday Rocky! We love you!

Back to Work

Yesterday was Kevin's first day back to work since Kaelin was born. He had 2 weeks of paternity leave and then took a few vacation days as well. We were soo spoiled! Kaelin and I had a rough day, she is going through a growth spurt and wanted to eat every other hour. In between the feedings she was gassy and miserable. Thank goodness that Grandma Carter was visiting so she and I traded off rocking Kaelin. Thanks Mom!

Today was definitely a better day. Kaelin was back to her normal 3 hour feeding schedule and slept like an angel in between. We even got a visit from Auntie Liz and Auntie Jenn!! Yay!

More Great Pics!

Here are a few more great pics from this week!

First Family Vacation

This past weekend Kevin and I loaded up the baby, the dog and the car and made the three hour journey up to my mom's cabin in Twin Mountain, NH. We absolutley love going up there and were excited to show Kaelin all of our favorite sights in the area.

On Thursday, we did a lot of relaxing at the cabin. My mom and I took Kaelin and Rocky for a nice long walk while Kevin and Wayne supervised our progress with a beer on the porch. That night we grilled and relaxed.

Friday brought us on a little journey to Littleton, NH home of Chutter's the world's longest candy counter and fudge supplier! We got a few bags of candy to take home. Kaelin picked out some fudge and penny candy which her dad helped her to eat. And then we went out to lunch with Grandma and Papa Wayne. It was Kaelin's first trip to a restaurant.
On Saturday, Kevin and I were able to go see "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" while my mom baby-sat for a few hours. It was so strange to go out without Kaelin, I kept my phone on vibrate and checked it every 10 minutes just to make sure that nothing was wrong!!
On our way home, Rocky supervised Kaelin. He was also following the rear-facing carseat standards!!

We had such a great time. Thanks for letting us visit Grandma!!

Meeting her Public

Kaelin has been so lucky to already have so many visitors! Mom finally got with it enough to take some pictures of Kaelin with her adoring fans! Here are a few cute pics of Kaelin with her Grammy and Grandpop, her Grandma, her Grandpa and Mimi, and two of her pseudo aunties- Liz and Beth. Hopefully we can add more soon! And if you have a favorite pic of you and Kaelin, forward it to us and I will put it up!

Rub a Dub Dub

Today Kaelin got her very first bath up in the Special Care Nursery. All the lovely nurses up there took such great care of her. Thank you!

We Are Proud to Present

Kaelin Elizabeth O'Neill was born yesterday, July 1, 2009 at 2:57pm! At birth, she weighed6.15lbs and was about 20 inches long.
At our scheduled ultrasound and appointment on Tuesday, the ultrasound tech was only able to find 4.6cm of fluid. So we were sent to the office for a non-stress test, which Kaelin passed with flying colors! Great heart rate and lots of movement. We left the office with strict instructions to drink gallons of water and to return again for another ultrasound the following day.
On Wed am, my dad and Linda came to pick me up and bring me to NWH, since everyone was afraid for me to drive by myself. We met Kevin at the hospital and unfortunately the tech was unable to find any pockets of fluid. That brought us straight upstairs to the maternity ward, where it was decided that Kaelin would be delivered via c-section as soon as possible. Within hours, we were in the operating room!
Kaelin did very well during the whole procedure. She did have some trouble transitioning her breathing once she arrived, so she has spent the first 24 hours of her life in the special care nursery. Daddy has been able to visit Kaelin often and has taken tons of pictures to share with everyone. This morning, Mommy was able to feed Kaelin for the first time!
Kaelin was able to meet her Grandma and Papa Wayne and also her Grandpa and Mimi Linda within an hour after she was born. She also got to meet her uncle Brian a few hours later! Everyone agreed that she was beautiful! She is looking forward to meeting her Grammy and Grandpop O'Neill tonight!
